I am influenced by the science of nature and the creations of mankind, precision and absurdity, destruction and regeneration. Many of the motifs I use are commonly recognized and identified with, however they symbolize very specific meanings for me. Circles portray cycles and infinite possibility; eyeballs represent recognition and memory; teardrops depict liberation; hands illustrate internal conflict and a desire for change. I like to play with positive and negative space. The significance the shapes take can instigate memory or provide insight. These images will present a story if you let them. I present an opportunity for you to consider the perspective, to decide which areas hold mass or an illusion. Once I capture an image, I will re-work it and slowly re-develop a new sense of what the image means to me. My work is autobiographical. Everything I make reflects small disjointed parts of me: my life experiences, my moral values and beliefs, my ideas of control and power. I create to understand myself.
